Description

Scout Moor is England's largest on shore wind farm and is home to 26 turbines. The turbines cut imposing figures on the hillside, measuring 60 meters in height with the blades an additional 40 meters long,

Single lane dirt tracks link the turbines and provide access to some stunning views looking out over the moor side, down the valleys and across the reservoirs.

Location

Scout Moor is located in Lancashire between Edenfield, Rawtenstall and Rochdale on the Southern Pennines.

The A56 is located just over a mile away and joins the M66 which provides access to the regions motorway network.

Restrictions

The site suffers fro high winds
Moving turbines are an extremely dangerous hazard. A thorough risk assessment must be produced before filming commences

Accessibility

The site is open to the general public and there are several footpaths across the site. Vehicles can access the site via a restricted road which is shared with Scout Moor Quarry.
