Description

Salford Quays once formed part of Manchester Ports opened by Queen Victoria in 1894. Since then the area has seen dramatic change with the old docklands now a distant memory.

The area has seen extensive regeneration and is unrecognisable from the derelict dockland it once was. Large office and residential structures line the quay side, and landmark buildings such as the Lowry Centre and Imperial War Museum give the quays a unique feel.

The finishing touches are being applied to MediaCityUK, Salford Quays newest development. When completed it will be home to the BBC and offer world class studio facilities in addition to leisure, retail and residential opportunities.
