City Airport (formerly Barton Aerodrome) is a superb example of a pre World War II airfield. The original control tower, built in the 1930’s, is one of the oldest in Europe still in operation. In addition, the main hanger also built in the 1930’s, remains largely unchanged.
The airfield itself can offer grass runways up to 620 metres in length and is home to over 100 private aircraft.
City Airport is experienced in dealing with filming requests and would be happy to talk through any questions you may have.
City Airport is strategically located just 5 miles to the west of Manchester city centre. The airport is situated on Liverpool road, just off junction 11 of the M60 orbital ring road, which provides access to the surrounding region.
