The historic Port of Liverpool built in the 1800’s was once seen as one of the most advanced docks in the world. Some of the docks have undergone regeneration, however, central docks still remain as a reminder of the areas illustrious past.
The area contains a number of the famous old docks such as Collingwood, Clarence, Nelson and Bramley Moore. The imposing original dock wall outlines the site boundary and is an impressive feature.
Additionally the iron bascule bridge which was built in the 1930’s has recently been restored and allows people to cross Stanley Docks
Located on the River Mersey, Central Docks formed part of the historic Port of Liverpool. The old docks are a few minutes walk from the city centre and Liverpool Lime Street station is just over a mile away.
The start of the M62 is 5 ½ miles away and provides access to the regions motorway network.
